Diabetic Eye Exams

Diabetes is a chronic disease that prevents your body from making or using insulin, which in turn leads to increased sugar levels in your bloodstream, known as high blood sugar.

Diabetes increases your risk of eye conditions that can impact your vision and potentially lead to blindness. It is recommended that all diabetics have annual eye exams to monitor for the development of these conditions.

OHIP covers Diabetic Eye Exams once a year.
