Advanced Diagnostic Testing at Eyemaxx

At Eyemaxx, we believe a great eye exam goes beyond just checking your prescription. That’s why we’ve introduced advanced diagnostic imaging to help us take a deeper look at your eye health and detect changes early, often before symptoms appear.

Both OCT and Fundus imaging help us detect and monitor conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. Fundus imaging provides a detailed photo of the eye, while OCT allows us to see the layers beneath the surface. This gives our doctors a more complete picture and helps them catch changes earlier and monitor them more precisely.

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)

A non-invasive, 3D scan that uses light to create detailed images of the retina. This allows us to examine important structures like the macula and optic nerve and detect changes early.

Fundus (Retinal) Imaging

A non-invasive, high-resolution photo of the back of your eye that allows us to document and monitor your retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels over time, helping us detect even subtle changes early.

Is it included in my eye exam?

• For comprehensive non-OHIP eye exams, advanced imaging is included as part of your visit for a more complete assessment of your eye health.

• For OHIP-covered exams, advanced imaging is available as an optional enhancement ($50).
